I have decided to move the Braggin' Board down here to the public section to hopefully spark an interest in some of our non-KG members. :beerglass That and the fact that i have lost my old web host and most of my old links are now bad in the old board. :argh:
Two saturdays ago was the opening day of trout season here Pa. Unfortunately, i couldnt go because of a previous engagement i promised the old lady i'd attend with her. The things we do for our ladies, huh? :girlshit:
My brothers Norb & Denny did very well and here are a few pics.
This is my brother Denny and his beautiful 18 inch Palamino -

Norb got his two big ones on Meal Worms and Red Heads {a type of night crawler}.
Denny got his Palamino on Yum's Red Worms. BTW, he is getting it mounted. He got his big Rainbow on Powerbait.
The little guys were nabbed with Panther Martins {The black ones with the yellow dots and the copper blades}.

I agree about the size and tastiness, but the big ones still arent too bad.
My favorite way of cooking trout is to layer lemon & lime slices inside the trout with thyme & rosemary spriggs. Then i wrap the fish in aluminum foil with butter pats and either bake over hot rocks from a campfire or on a grill. :salute[1]:

Its been awhile since my last post in here.
My Brother Norb and I, and our friend Rick and his stepson Aarron have been doing very well lately fishing for Smallmouth Bass & Walleyes.
3 nights ago i caught one of the nicest Walleyes ive ever caught before, it was 25 1/2 inches long and weighed 6 pounds.
When we got it home and filleted it, we found something in it that blew me away, an 11 inch Brown Trout was in its belly! Now dont get me wrong, ive found plenty of other fish in fish's bellys, amoung other foul stuff, ive just never found one this size before. Here are the pics. First me with the Walleye by the river & then the Brown Trout as we found it in the Walleye's belly. Pretty wild stuff.
Edit: FYI - I also caught an 13 & 15 inch Smallmouth that same night as well as several other Walleyes that werent legal which had to be thrown back. All the fish i caught that night were caught on Bomber "Fat A" shallow running Crank Baits in Firetiger pattern.

This past monday, Kharkov made his yearly trek out to my place to go fishing with my brother Norb and me.
This year we had a rough time of it. It was the day before a front was to pass through our area and that really effected the fishing. Monday was a hot and humid 83 degrees. Yesterday was a cool and damp 66 degrees after some violent thunder and hail storms from the night before. If you know anything about weather fronts and fishing, that equals a rough day of fishing.
Like i said it was a rough day, John caught 2 Fall Fish {a garbage fish thats not eddible IMHO} and one 11 inch Smallmouth. {one inch shorter than legal size} Brother Norb caught only one fish, but it was about a 15 inch Largemouth. I didnt get a bite, let alone a fish all day. You have days like that fishing. To bad it had to happen when John came, LOL. We still had a great time hanging out and talking and fishing. As i have been told many times by my brother Norb....."A bad day fishing is better than a great day at work anytime....."
A few pics.....
Here is john fishing along the wall at the PENELEC power damn at Petersburg where we started the morning off at.

I had Norb on the ropes but he came through with the catch of the day in the final hour! As always, Kent and Norb were fantastic hosts. Like Kent said, a day of bad fishing beats any day of work. I had a wonderful time wading around and losing lures to the river gods. It's amazing how fast the day goes when you are fishing. It seemed like it was noon in no time.
Next year I'm going back for several visits. And I may even sneak up for Walleye fishing (which I've never done).
Jim, we need to meet for lunch of anything for that matter. Otherwise, I'm drinking your wine.
