I downloaded it last night and messed with it for an hour or so. Not impressive at all. My computer ran it fine. There's not the same stalking feel you get with CMBB or CMAK when it comes to tank battle. Syrian T-72s die as soon as they become visible. The map is probably the least impressive feature. I didn't have any pathfinding problems. There were some Syrians in a trench (two squads) probably 2000 meters away (unlike CM, there's no los tool and when you give a unit a target there's no distance to target given) that one Abrams killed in one turn.

Pretty dull stuff. That being said, the Demo for CMBB was terrible. This one is better than that one, but I doubt the CM:SF full version will will give very many people hours of great game play like CMBB or CMAK. Honestly, even a WWII version of this engine doesn't seem that attractive to me now.

You might be able to turn them off, but there are annoying icons that sit on top of units that really bugged me.

I was wrong about the targeting tool. It does give range and los.

I got the demo & put an hour in so far..

It's definetely different from CMx1. It'll take awhile for me to get used to this.

Here's a review of the CMSF demo:

Well...sort of a review, as he apparently wasn't able to play it much.

Perhaps even more interesting is his site overall. He appears to be a very independent reviewer.

I have yet to play "we-go"
I have only done "real time"
I like the game so far, it has some issues...
pathfinding is the only one I have experienced so far.
Some of that was easily correctible by just altering my commands a bit.
No issues running the game for me at all so-far.
You get the same type of rush playing online as I remember having
playing cc3. Thats only in a pair of battles online to date.

i think cc3 is still better than CM anything. i DL'd the demo and thought it stunk. lame map, easy kills on everything..you just command your units to mount up and go in the direction and its over..like watching a movie.. kinda dull. anyone up for ccIII? CoI? let me know :)
