Havoc: the Hundred Years War
Havoc: the Hundred Years War {By Sunriver Games} is a card game where players compete in a series of battles by recruiting soldiers to form sets (Based on poker hands, but there are 6 suits, numbered 1 - 18) to win victory points. The Dogs of War cards are used to retrieve soldiers from the battlefield or to draw extra resources. After 8 skirmishes a final battle ends the game and crowns a new king based on total victory points. I must say that the artwork on the cards in this game must be seen to be belived. Its all taken from period artworks and is truely breathtaking. There is a new expansion that introduces a couple of new historical character personality cards that when played, can alter the game in certain ways. This is more than just a card game, there are many layers of strategy to this game and it can quickly be played be those who dont have the time for those lengthly boardgames of old. Plus it comes in a small easily tranported box that can be easily tucked away just about anywhere. Rob, this could be the perfect game for you. And at only $18.95 at Funagaingames.com its hard to beat the price. The expansion is only $2.00.
