Bootie (our main man at FGM) pointed me in your direction.
Apparently you need a whipping boy for your Werfer tournament.
We'll I'm offering myself up as that lamb for the slaughter.

Thanks for joining us Mr. Yormsha!
We're honored to have you as a part of our little Tournament. Now that we have 16 players, I will be selecting the match ups (by lot) for all six phases of the first round, including and especially the opening phase that includes our first two battles. We should be getting under way very soon!
That said, we don't expect any easy battles for the folks that play you. Good luck and good fun, as we march across Europe and North Africa.

Drawing names from her University of Texas hat, my wife has determined the pairings for all all phases of the first round of the Tournament. I assure you that it was merely a coincidence that she drew my name first. Since that was immediately followed by Pat's name being drawn next, the drawing may have been an inadvertent salute to the most senior KG members based on chronology! If you are in the "A" pool (like me), in the first phase you will play your CMBB game as the Axis and your CMAK game as the Allies. If you are in the "B" pool (like Pat), in the first phase you will play the Allies in your CMBB game and the Axis in your CMAK game. The Axis player in each game is charged with downloading that game file and doing his set-up first. He then sends that file to his opponent. Thus each player sets up one of the two games in each phase. On to the pairings:
1A KG_Jag vs. 1B KG_Swampfox
2A KG_CrimsonTrooper vs. 2B KG_Kharkov
3A KG_Soldier vs. 3B KG_AGCent
4A KG_Thorshammer vs. 4B KG_Koz
5A KGr_Norad vs. 5B KG_Panzerschreck
6A KG_Scipio vs. 6B KG_Cloghaun
7A KG_KernelBones vs. 7B KG_SSpoom
8A FGM MrYormsha vs. 8B KG_Panther
In each phase that follows, the "B" pool will slide down (or over the top) to the next opponent. For example, in phase two KG_Jag, as 1A will play KG_Panther who is 8B. In phase two KG_Swampfox, who is 1B, plays 2A, who is KG_CrimsonTrooper.
If you played the Axis in your first CMBB game, you will be the Axis in your CMBB in all odd numbered phases. Likewise you will be the Allies in all odd numbered phases in your CMAK game. That is the case for all of Pool A players.
For Pool B it's exactly the opposite. If you are in Pool B, you will play the Allies in all odd numbered phases in your CMBB games, and the Axis in CMAK in all odd numbered phases.
A full Round 1 schedule will be posted soon.
Gentlemen, start your (tank) engines!

There is a link on the mid-right hand side of the home page that says 2006 Tournament (or something like that) - click there and you'll be at the tournament page.
Welcome to the tourney! Good luck.

There seems to be some confusion about the opening set of two games (one CMBB & one CMAK). Together this is called a "phase". There are six phases (which contain 12 games) in the opening round of the Tournament, which determines the "Final Four" who will advance to the second round.
In each and every phase you play both of your games against the same opponent. For example I (player 1A) play both of my phase one games against Pat (player 1B). It is in each succeeding phase you draw a new opponent against whom you will play the two games that comprise that phase.

For those who might have missed it, some time ago I extended the time for completion of the first round (all six game phases) of the Tournament until 9/30/07. This was done to assure maximum participation in the Tournament.
1. Phase one is to be completed by 5/21/06;
2. Phase two is to be completed by 8/31/06;
3. Phase three is to be completed by 10/31/06;
4. Phase four is to be completed by 2/28/07;
5. Phase five is to be completed by 6/30/07; and
6. Phase six is to be completed by 9/30/07.
However, don't be afraid to finish any of your games early!

As we can work out who all our games will be against, do we have to wait until we finish one phase before we start the next one? Or can we crack on with all of them?
BTW. Could my opponents drop me an email. mryormsha(at)hotmail.co.uk.
Thx.

Actually it will be to your disadvantage to race very far ahead of the pack. However, if you and your next opponent finish a bit ahead of the field, you can start the next phase.
As a practical matter, the family and professional demands of the some of the guys is the reason we stretched the Tournament out a bit. So it is likely that some of your opponents will only be able to keep up a moderate pace. Of course holidays, vacations and religious observances may also slow things down during the year and a half plus allocated to the first round.

He's been really busy getting his sorry ass American tanks blown to bits by my magnificent German ones. He's probably going to quit playing altogether by the time we're done with this 13,000 point CMAK slugfest! I know he lies sleepless at night, worrying about the next turn and wondering HOW MANY MORE MUST DIE. :)

Is there any news on how this tourney's going? results table or anything?

We recently had to replace one of the players in the Tournament. As a result, at least one of our pairings got off to a slow start in Phase 2.
Look for more information about the Tournament standings and the revised timetable for Phase 2 and the balance of the Tournament in the near future.
