Here's what Bill and boys say:

"End of support for Windows 98 and Windows Me
Published: January 6, 2006 | Updated: January 18, 2006

June 30, 2006 will bring a close to Extended Support for Windows 98, Windows 98 Second Edition, and Windows Me as part of the Microsoft Lifecycle Policy. Microsoft will retire public and technical support, including security updates, by this date.

Existing support documents and content, however, will continue to be available through the Microsoft Support Product Solution Center Web site. This Web site will continue to host a wealth of previous How-to, Troubleshooting, and Configuration content for anyone who may need self-service.

Microsoft is retiring support for these products because they are outdated and can expose customers to security risks. We recommend that customers who are still running Windows 98 or Windows Me upgrade to a newer, more secure Microsoft operating system, such as Windows XP, as soon as possible.

Customers who upgrade to Windows XP report improved security, richer functionality, and increased productivity."

I left in their ad and spiel.

Think he'll ever pry open that ever expanding wallet of his and spring for a new rig, John?

Not as long as duct tape and superglue are so cheap. I keep trying to get Mr. DeepPockets to spring for a new PC so I can live vicariously through him, but he won't. It was quite funny when he would play warcraft with me and his machine crashed every 10 minutes. Everyone thought he was dirt poor since WOW doesn't require much firepower to play!

You guys are both losers. I've been running WinXP for almost a year! My pc has been quite stable. I could have picked up a new PC a year ago but WISELY chose to postpone the upgrade till I was playing a game that needed it.

You are both jealous of me and are sick over upgrading too early and being stuck with expensive outdated equipment!

What they should do, is everybody that has 98' or ME, Microsoft should give them a free copy of XP...

Haha, Well as much as I'd like to see Microsoft do that, I don't see any reason why they should provide a free copy of their software.
