Who is planning on getting this mod? It has breathed new life into CC - Gamespy is very full these days.
Let me know, I'm curious how many of u are going to try this mod.

I will eventually get it. I just dont have the time for it now. When i do get it, ill have to have someone DL it for me, im still 56k handicapped, lol.

I have the mod and have been putzing with it. I have some reservations about v1.0. Uber T-34s that require at times in excess of 5 and 6 shots from a 75mm Pak to kill. The same t-34s getting off 700 meter snap shots killing Stugs outright on the 1st hit. Invincible AT guns (both sides) that are invulnerable to infantry assaults and unsuppressable with direct short range (<200m) MG42 fire.
The maps are gorgeous. The strategic map is well thought out. These are my initial impressions and don't really think that the present data set is up to clanwar standards.

I will look into those things, I haven't experienced them that way yet, so far I found the Stug III to be a good match vs T 34 traded shots a lot and even pairing so far. Dunno about the AT guns as much, I have been playing russian so i haven't assaulted a german one yet.

Is it a self-installing MOD or do I have to download all the maps and drop them into a map folder ( ie: GJS Mod )? How large a file(s) is it?

same as GJS 4.4 - download the map pack, copy them to CC5 maps folder, then install stalingrad (latest version now 1.1 vice 1.0) plugin.

Version 1.1 released, I'll see what changes are made.
Re: T-34s being too good, my T-34s have statistically been wooped by stug IIIes and fs. At 200m it couldn't even wound the stug(black), at 180m (green) i was able to shoot and hit 4-5 times but was taken out by the stug. this was from an ambush position as well.
So I think tank wise its looking pretty good balance wise and hopefully historically. T34s will do fine at closer range or against lighter armor but the crews are pretty green compared to german crews at this stage.
AT guns I'll have to see if I can close assault. But they can be mortared as usual and i've killed several with tanks and guns.

Tanks and other guns do a fine job against other AT guns. But I have close assaulted a 45mm gun with 2 full PzGr squads only to have them turned away quite badly beaten up and not a soul on the AT gun crews was hurt or even fazed. I assaulted from a building, the AT gun was in the open and not in a trench.

This bug is being addressed by the mod team and I hope will be released as stalingrad 1.2 before christmas.
Let me know if anyone is interested in having a KG group fight in the war in January.
