Use this thread to post impressions of custom maps that we may want to use on our server.

Played a map called dod_runoff.

A large map being played in the runoff area of a water treatment facility. Lots of ground vegetation makes sniping difficult without exposing oneself to fire. Long enopugh lines of sight that being a twitch SMGer difficult at best. Definitely a rifleman's map. Lot's of terrain and elevation variances. It's easy to tell that someone really thought this one out. I have client side files, dunno if that's enough to put it on the server or not though.

I have client side files, dunno if that's enough to put it on the server or not though.

Nope, you'll need to get the server side file for us to use....

Checkout the DoD forums... they might be there...

Actually Crim, as long as there is a .bsp, that should be fine :)

All of the snow maps are great, there sniping fests but they rock! Because i love sniping also.

I played a few more custom maps.... Another Sniper fest and another one that usually ends up being a sniper-fest. It's called Omaha V1, pretty freaking cool map...a few tweaks and it could be a lot better.

If any of you have a chance to play it I would recommend it.

Send me the .bsp file and I'll load it up, the file will be in:

C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\<username>\day of defeat source\dod\maps\

Bulldog,Soldier,Cooper and I all played a bunch of new maps last night.

When I get home I will email you the maps GasX.... They are pretty freakin awesome!

I think the more maps we add the more popular our server will be and we won't have as many nights with zero people playing on it.

If there was a way to download the maps online instead of through steam, it would be better because it take forever ingame...

And dont get carried away with the new maps...because the stock maps are good too, and make shure they want you to take there maps and there not just for there personal use...

BTW: I usualy am on the server by myself...searching for things...

I emailed you a few maps yesterday and when I get home this afternoon I am going to email you a few more... I played several cool maps yesterday with Soldier, AGC and ArmyGroup ... I think you'll like them all....some are modern looking (almost taken exactly from HL2) and some are hybrids.

I am going to be emailing GasX a new map I played last night called "Anvil"
It is the absolute best made Custom maps out there....

This is a MUST for our server....

I was playing on the "Anvil" map last night and when I went to zip and send it to steve I realized it was too big to send to his email... the unzipped map is 25MB's and zipped it's just under 8MB but after 3 attempts steve's email wouldn't accept it...

If we ever add another map this is a MUST.
