lol @ Crimson.... personally i don't care for cs too much, as a lot of shots I have seen are just 100% grade A premium bulls***..... and don't even get me started on that damn AWP.... lol... I will admit though, playing it has made me a better FPS player, I no longer spray (okay, maybe just a little with the thompson) and my shooting seems to be more accurate.... :)

Well Steve-O I can't help it but I think CS :Source is probably one of the BEST looking games out on the market right now.
I don't know about you but "Spraying" has never been apart of my playing no matter what the game, I am more of a control burst if I am using a machine gun(M249) or even my fav the M4.
CS:Source Rocks like no other!

I used to spray, back in my BF1942 days, because I could get away with it.... but in most of the newer games, they regulate the ability to spray pretty well :)

For those that are interested in purchasing Half-Life 2 (You need to buy it to get Counter-Strike:Source) In essence your getting 2 games for the price of one. The graphics will blow you away guaranteed!
I am posting the following link to NewEgg where you can buy HL2 for $29.99 with free shipping.

I took a look at this screenie last night and can say that i am quite blown away by it. It looks gorgeous. I have, however, already spent my fun money for the month as of last night. I purchased Baldur's Gate II Shadows of Amn and the expansion pack for it, Throne of Bhaal. It took me nearly 4 years to finish the first installment Baldur's Gate so i look forward to at least another 3 years filled with wonder, adventure, frustration, cursing, excitement and oft referenced hack-lists.
If Andy is feeling particularly generous, he could buy it for me... I promise to pay you back next month...
Also, who is still playing Brothers in Arms? Any improvement in team tactics found anywhere?

Things are a little tight for me right now but I'll see if later next month (June) I might be able to swing something.

@GasX,
If you would like, it would be cool if you could join us. :D
With any game your going to have people hack/cheat somehow all we can do is make a mental note of the individual player and or server and avoid them. I have only tried the sniper rifles but a few times, I prefer the MP5 or the Shotgun because I LOVE the close quaters combat myself.
@Noggs,
I took a screenshot of a screenshot because my computer prowess isn't that great when it comes to manipulating pictures pixel size and the program I do use for screenshots lets me adjust the size rather easily.
@Zulu,
We need your help... It would be good to have another player join us!
anytime you can feel free to join us.
@SSpoom,
Your skillz are getting better and better each day we play and by you getting accustomed to the various maps is helping. I look forward to many days/nights of being your wing man anyday!
@Soldier & Rob,
You guys are missing out on some killer action that will visually blow you both away. I think with each one of you guys that we could become a definite clan to be dealt with!
@Coop,
Your an animal bro! what can I say.... I need to learn to be as agressive as you are when playing. Hopefully you will rub off on me the more we can get some playing time in! :twisted:
I look forward to seeing alll of you on the CS battlefield! :twisted: :twisted:

What was the problem(s)?
KG_Zulu_5
06-03-2005, 08:46 PM
Constant re-booting....
After bios flash
After Windows boots
After half-way of booting Windows
After trying to reinstall Windows OS
If and when it boots into windows it crashes
After launching IE, Mozillia, Firefox, etc.
After launching TeamSpeak for a short period of time
After not touching or opening any programs in windows
After launching Windows Update
After launching Battlefield 1942 and loading a map running on a server
There is not pattern that i have noticed with the CPU re-booting. Very random!
However, I can take my HD out and boot it from another CPU (my dads work PC) and everything is stable.

KGer's that now have CS:Source:
SSPoom
Cooper/Tankorr
Soldier
Starfury
Crimson (myself)
GasX
We need to all get together and play, day by day SSpoom is getting better and better. Cooper is getting better as well. Soldier, well um .... he's a bullet magnet but that happens when you just start playing... GasX I have only played with him once and he's a good player. Starfury...well... he's good too :wink:
I'm a decent player but together I think we would make an excellent team!
For those needing practice, here's a little advice for you:
Instead of playing on-line, choose to start a server.
Then pick and choose your set up and make sure you click on allowing BOTS to play with you. (Hint: if your just starting, click that the BOTS are easy! If not and you click normal, they WILL rock you!
I recommend this for all of you, it will help you get to know the maps ( which is half the battle) plus you'll get to see how the various weapons work best for you. You can even set up the BOTS to have KG Tags so you can have a KG scrimage of sorts.
You can choose any map you've played on-line because once you play it, it will be in your map folder. I recommend playing the McDonalds map for fierce quick battles. The enemy AI is incredible especially the harder the setting. Trust me when I say on normal they are tough!
Enjoy!

Stu,
I think you need to play with people who will cover your back and you'll get a better appreciation of the game. As far as the players running too fast, If you switch to your Knife or grenade you'll be able to cover more ground(IE. run faster).
You need to come on and play with : SSpoom, Soldier, Cooper, GasX, AGC and myself
The more we play as a group the faster you'll get used to all the nuances of the game.
P.S. When playing with Soldier, don't let him use Flashbangs :wink: :twisted: :wink:

Yeah I hear ya. I've gotten caught int he hype on more than a few games only to find out they suck or I can't play them due to a technical glitch or patch that I can't download for some reason (i.e. Soldiers).
I threw out a lot of old games last month. This game is fun but I can tell I will get bored of it pretty quickly. Running and killing and running and being killed...that kind of stuff gets old. I enjoy the use of larger scale strategy much more (CM).

Play CM sometime Crimson, when you get a kill ratio like 2500 to 250 now thats kicking some ass. :P
I just can't get into Turn Based games... I find them boring in my opinion ( just my humble opinion ) My biggest problem with them is if you see what your opponent is doing you can't act on it right away. Sometimes in battles you had but a few moments to where you could capitolize on a brief mistake.... and yes I have heard the arguement that "Hey thats how war was always fought" But I beg to differ... even when orders were sent it into the field commanding officers they could change how an objective was to be attacked or counter attacked depending on what they "Actually" saw.
Yes, Shooters have their place and so do Strategy games the whole key is to get the balance right. :twisted:

So how do I add custom sprays?
When I get home from work I can walk you through it over TS.
First and foremost, get a picture you like... it can be a jpeg, bmp and so forth (gif's sometimes work) and if you have any photoshop or similar program reduce it to say 100x100 you should be safe and not get any distortion.
Cruise the interent for pics from your favorite sites and save them to your pictures folder and we can go from there.

thats ok if CM isnt your cup of tea Crimson. i would be lax in my job of DC of CM if i at least didnt try every once in a while to drag other KGers who dont play the game into it kicking and screaming. :shock:
suprisingly enough once you get used to the interface and how the game works and is played you can react to situations as they develope very quickly in this game. alot quicker than you might think. but then again, as Gen. Grant once said, "it all about making them react to you, not you reacting to them". :!:

Yessir Noggs, i think once you get used to the ordes phase and the game interface and how things work in CM, you'll soon forget all about these silly little nonsensecal FPS games and step up to the plate for some real war gaming. FPS are fun, i played them too ya know, but they hardly hold a candle to a game like CM.
and before you fly off the handle, you defenders of FPS's, i mean no personal disrespect to any of you. but you just cant compare the controlling of a regiment or two of troops to running around like a nut shooting at people. and yes i know there "could" be elements of strategy in those games, but good luck getting anyone other than the occasional clanmate to play that way with you. and i know what im talking about, im a veteran of all the MOH games and Both versions of COD.

Day of Defeat:Source
will be released via Steam on September 26th!
The servers will be loaded up this week.
Any more news I will share with you as I learn it.
Here's a little about the game for those that don't know anything:
Day of Defeat: Source is a World War II multiplayer modification for Half-life 2. Day of Defeat attempts to recreate WWII battles in both fictional and non-fictional environments. It puts you in the shoes of either an Allied or Axis soldier circa 1944, Western Europe.
The overall goal of the game depends upon the map - whether it be to capture an area, defend a beach, or simply destroy the enemy. The maps included with Day of Defeat: Source will give players endless hours of replay ability online. With a selection of nearly 20 weapons, players will have something new to try every time they play.
Day of Defeat: Source puts you in the middle of the battle fought between the Allies (America) and the Axis forces (Germany) across a series of realistic maps. There are several different character classes on each side, each with their own strengths and weaknesses so choose wisely. The maps are excellent reconstructions of actual battle areas that of authenticity to WWII. Creative design and textures fill all of the maps in DoD: S, and challenging objectives such as destroying a point, or classic capturing of flags. Coupled with Day of Defeats superbly realistic camouflage of the layer characters and the ability to lie prone you really have to keep your eyes open and your wits about you. This all helps to build a superbly atmospheric mod.
Day of Defeat: Source implements certain features which differentiate it from other mods, making it stand out from the crowd. It goes for more realism than most with a stamina meter meaning you can’t go leaping about the place like some crazed Easter Bunny. Also if you get shot you might incur a flesh wound that will see you bleed to death if you don’t apply your bandages to it pretty swiftly.
Weapons are modelled on authentic originals they used in the world war and the sounds and actions are very realistic. The models have been made to accurate representations of the real ones. There is infinite respawning which means you don't sit out for a round like in Counter-Strike you are always in the action. The first person to die on your team will start a timer, this timer will continue to count down and any team member that has died during the timer will respawn when the timer is up. Then the timer will restart again when someone has died. This system ensures that you will always spawn with your team.
Day of Defeat (a.k.a. DoD) is the latest online action experience from Valve, makers of Half-Life and Counter-Strike. Stationed in the heart of WWII's European Theater of Operations, players join the ranks of an elite military squad entrenched in battle.
Each team has several "player classes," that give each squad member a unique role. These include scout, infantry, sergeant, machine gunner, and more, each with a unique arsenal of historical weaponry at their disposal.
Day of Defeat includes an expansive collection of missions based on key historical battles. And a near infinite number of additional missions, created by the online development community, are available for download.
As war rages, squads must battle as a unit to achieve victory.
Key Features:
Class system gives each player a unique role
Historically-simulated weaponry and items
Dozens of missions based upon WWII's greatest battles.
Built-in support for voice communication
New features:
Introduction of British troops.
Enhanced FX for smoke, fire, rain, etc.
New sounds and music.
Updated player and item models.
New maps.
Completely overhauled interface - supports in and out of game
configuration, server browsing, and more.
